Amazon releases AWS Identity and Access Management

Amazon AWS has announced the beta release of a new AWS feature that will allow customers to create multiple users under a single AWS account.  They are calling it AWS Identity and Access Management (IAM).  In addition to being able to create multiple users, the primary customer can also set permissions for each of the users and has control over users’ access.  This seems to be a logical step in shared accounts, as  each user will have unique security credentials and eliminates the need to have a public, and there by useless password.

Other features include the ability to create groups.  The new IAM features are currently being implemented as a preview beta for current customers.  Learn more about Amazon’s AWS Identity and Access Management here.
